A makrancos hölgy, Kata egy gazdag kereskedő idősebbik lánya, akinek modora tűrhetetlen, és durva beszédétől minden férfi megriad, így nem sok reménye van arra, hogy férjet találjon. Húga viszont csak akkor mehet férjhez, ha nővére már elkelt. A szelíd Bianca udvarlói kerítenek tehát egy elszánt férfiút, Petruchiót, aki vállalkozik Kata megszelídítésére. Mindez Shakespeare utánozhatatlan figurateremtő képességével, remek szituációival, nyelvi leleményeivel kerekedik vérbeli komédiává, a szó legnemesebb értelmében. A produkció főszerepeit Pap Lívia és Koscsisák András alakítják.
