Lehár kimeríthetetlen fantáziával, humorral, technikai igényességgel komponálta műveit, és nem utolsósorban rendkívül termékeny zeneszerző is volt – összesen 31 operett fűződik a nevéhez. Zenéjével a külvárosi lokálok közönségére éppúgy tudott hatni, mint az úri bálok elit rétegeire. Nem mindennapi tehetségéről tanúskodik, hogy zeneszerzés mestereként már Dvořák is felfigyelt rá, Puccini pedig állítólag annak a meggyőződésének adott hangot, hogy ha Lehár operakomponistaként építette volna karrierjét, ő lett volna a legjelentősebb ellenfele. A Concerto Budapest Magyar Kincsek Ünnepén most életművébe nemcsak operettjeinek részletei adnak betekintést, de elhangzik hegedűre és zenekarra írt Concertinója és egy népszerű keringője is.

Yet there are many singers who do not find a role in the works of these masters, but who would gladly sing from their rich vocal palettes. The piano afternoons and matinees are for them, about them, and inspired by them.
