Akárcsak a nagysikerű Függöny fel!-ben, a Ma este megbukunk előadásban is egy amatőr színtársulat kísérel meg bemutatni egy darabot – ezúttal egy klasszikus angol krimit – ám az este katasztrófába torkollik. Murphy törvényeit követve: ami elromolhat, az el is romlik, ami összeomolhat, az össze is omlik.
