Limitless. Four classical ballets that push the boundaries of achievability. That demand superhuman performance and virtuosic technical skill from the dancers. George Balanchine’s choreographies Theme and Variations and Sylvia Pas de Deux feature the graceful elegance of classical ballet. William Forsythe’s piece The Vertiginous Thrill of Exactitude was intended as a true homage to the technique of classical technique. Harald Lander’s one-act Études, on the other hand, is literally about technique and how it is practised and mastered. A programme that shows what the human body is capable of is practically limitless.

Our offer
Based on Ádám Jenő's work by the same title HUNGARIAN CHRISTMAS Singspiel in two tableaux, in Hungarian
Set in the Roman Empire around 74 BC, Spartacus was László Seregi's first true full-length ballet, which at one stroke became a milestone in Hungarian dance life. Since 1968, one generation after another has enjoyed the historically themed choreography, which treats the story of the ancient slave revolt in such a way that its true message is not the rebellion itself, but rather human emotions and choices under pressure.
A 60-minute tour starts every day at 13:30, 15:00 and 16:30 in English. To request a tour in other languages (Italian, Spanish, German, French, Greece and Hungarian), please get in touch with the OperaTour team. Please note that the auditorium is closed for visits during rehearsals. Guided tours are not available during performances. For selected tour times, tickets are also available with the PreOpera Menu package. In addition to the guided tour of the Opera House, this option includes a themed set menu of your choice at OperaBistro, which can be enjoyed either before or after the tour.
