Apám kétségbeesett. "Fiú ez egyáltalán, vagy mi? Folyton bőg, fél a sötétben. Miért ilyen? Én nem neveltem lánynak, pont úgy bántam vele, mint a többi fiúval!" Fogalma sem volt, hogy engem ugyanezek a kérdések gyötörnek. Ha fiú vagyok, miért nem vagyok olyan, mint a többiek? Miért viselkedem így, miért affektálok, miért gesztikulálok széles mozdulatokkal, miért olyan nőies a beszédem? Nem tudtam, miért lettem ennyire más, és ez borzalmasan fájt.
