Egy sikeres informatikai cég vezetője szeretné eladni a vállalatát, ám a vevő kizárólag a cég elsőszámú emberével, a távolban élő Főfőnökkel hajlandó tárgyalni, akivel csak az az az egy probléma van, hogy kitalált személy. Nincs más lehetőség, fel kell bérelni egy színészt, hogy eljátssza a Főfőnököt.
A bonyodalmak lavinája akkor indul el, amikor a beosztottak véletlenül találkoznak az addig sosem látott vezetőjükkel.
