Zsuzsa Koncz is one of the true fixed stars in the heavens of Hungarian pop music, her songs speaking to the present with relevance in every era - and in addition, she is by no means an inaccessible legend, as she maintains a continuous and living relationship with her audience through her concerts. In November 2019, she released her new album Így volt szép, a two-disc collection of her and our favourites from the start of her career as a singer to the present that her fans love to listen to over and over again.
This album of 40 selected hits extends from her 1966 single Rohan az idő - which brought her enormous acclaim at the start of her career - all the way to the more noteworthy songs from her 2016 album Vadvilág and her composition Sírva vigad a magyar. It also includes a so-far unreleased recording from the '70s of Sándor Weöres's poem Majomország set to music by János Bródy' One factor that has contributed to Koncz's singing career is the fact that Hungary's most outstanding musicians and composers have written, and continue to write, songs for her, from which she makes selections with a care that is sensitive to the ways of the world.
