A kabaré, a pesti kabaré és a klasszikus kávéház édestestvérek. Az 1900-as évek pestje híres volt szerzőiről, előadóiról. Napjainkra az igazi, a naprakész humor, az élő kabaré - Hofi Géza halálával - szinte teljesen eltűnt a palettáról.
A Stand-Up az egyik legnehezebb műfaj, egyedül a színpadon, díszletek, speciális effektek és jelmezek nélkül csak a szövegre, a gesztusokra és az előadó egyéniségére hagyatkozva kell elvarázsolni a nézőket, nap mint nap megújulva, s kell tenni mindezt olyan körülmények között, ahol a nézők az asztalaiknál esznek, isznak, esetleg megszólalnak, avagy megszólaltatnak, ahol a pincérek állandó mozgásukkal elvihetik a figyelmet az apró nüanszokról.
