Régen – más lehetőségek híján – a táncalkalmak jelentették jóformán az egyetlen szórakozást a faluközösségek számára.
Az emberi élet sorsfordulóihoz (pl. névnap, bevonulás, lakodalom), az év jeles napjaihoz (pl. farsang, húsvét, karácsony) vagy a munkához (pl. tavaszi juhmérés, aratás, szüret) szorosan hozzátartozó népszokások fontos eleme a közös tánc. A legények egy-egy szezonra zenekart fogadtak, kibéreltek egy alkalmas házat, vagyis táncházat választottak. Így nem csak a bál helyszíne, hanem maga az esemény is a táncház nevet kapta. A táncház rendjében szólisztikus, páros, esetenként lánc- vagy körtáncok váltják egymást, az egyes táncfajtákhoz szervesen illeszkedő muzsika kíséretében. A kötött stílus ellenére jelentős szerepet kap az improvizáció, a zenei elemek és a táncfigurák együtt lélegző variálása.
Kodály Táncházunk tánctanításába azokról a magyar tájegységekről fogunk táncokat válogatni, ahol Kodály Zoltán is megfordult népzene és népdalgyűjtő körútjai során.

Our offer
There are evenings when our Opera House cannot perform because rehearsals are ongoing on stage until the evening. There are audience members who can only afford to hear their favourite pieces with a discount. And there are works that, although very popular, cannot be staged every season due to the congestion of productions.
A 60-minute tour starts every day at 13:30, 15:00 and 16:30 in English. To request a tour in other languages (Italian, Spanish, German, French, Greece and Hungarian), please get in touch with the OperaTour team. Please note that the auditorium is closed for visits during rehearsals. Guided tours are not available during performances. For selected tour times, tickets are also available with the PreOpera Menu package. In addition to the guided tour of the Opera House, this option includes a themed set menu of your choice at OperaBistro, which can be enjoyed either before or after the tour.
