Kedvenc hősünk unatkozik. Éghajlat változásra van szüksége. Unja a prágai tavaszt, a nyarat, nem lelkesítik a barátai, mígnem döntés születik. Irány a földgömb. Azaz a föld más éghajlatú tájai.
Az utazásból sem csinál gondot, túr-fúr, mígnem kilyukad számtalan új helyszínen. Az ausztrál kontinensen megismeri a tüskés egeret, Amerikában, Ázsiában, de még Grönlandon is találkozik furábbnál furább élőlényekkel, mire ráeszmél, hogy a hazai barátai az igaziak és tulajdonképpen nincs is semmi probléma a tarka cseh legelőkkel, a bohém tavaszi szellővel, így hát marad ő európai vakond.
