A darab a szolidaritás és a háború viszonyát vizsgálja a ténoszi család történetén keresztül. Mi a helyes döntés, ha a szolidaritás erkölcsi parancsa ellentétbe kerül a túlélés parancsával? Elítélhető-e az, akinek saját és szűk közösségének boldogulása előbbre való, mint a bajba jutottért való kiállás? Hol van az a pillanat, amikor már nem helyes csöndben maradni, és hol van az a pillanat, amikor még csöndben kell maradni?
