A fergeteges vígjáték Leonida úrról és családjáról szól, aki abból él, méghozzá jól, hogy lakodalmakon és ünnepségeken degeszre tölti élelemmel különleges "rekeszes" kabátját, és előkelő ismerőseivel "szeretetligát" alapít, hogy ne csak jókat egyenek, hanem némi pénzhez is jussanak.
