Amikor nyakunkba szakadnak a gondok és fojtogat a bánat, miből merítsünk erőt a folytatáshoz? A megoldás legtöbbször meglepő módon jelentkezik. Karnyónénak a segítség egy mókus formájában jött el. A férjét évek óta nem látta, egyedül maradt fogyatékos fiával. A férfi, akiben bízott, átverte. Súlyos anyagi gondokkal küzdött. De Karnyóné nem csak hogy túlélte, megtalálta a kiutat a reménytelenségből és most már azt mondja, az élet mégis csak szép. Ez hogy történhetett meg? Elmesélte nekem, hogy egy késő őszi napon, amikor már teljesen maga alatt volt, megfigyelt egy mókust, aki makkot gyűjtött télire, de egyszerre mindig csak egyet tudott elvinni az odújához. És akkor arra gondolt: hogyha ez a kis állat képes megvédeni magát a zord téllel szemben, akkor ez nekem is menni fog. Apró darabokra tépem a problémáimat, elviszem őket jó messzire, mint az a mókus a kis makkokat, de egyszerre mindig csak egyet.

As it is a latent Kodály season, it seems only fitting that the concert at the OPERA honouring the events of 1956 should feature works by the composer. In that same year, the short-lived Revolutionary Council of Hungarian Intellectuals elected him as its president. Throughout his entire oeuvre, Kodály consistently reinforced Hungarian national identity. The programme gains both colour and a ceremonial character from the hymn-like and dance-infused compositions of his middle and later years.

Please note that the auditorium is closed for visits during rehearsals. Guided tours are not available during performances.
