A történet középpontjában egy valós történet áll. Az 1800-as évek végén egy orosz kisváros egyik leggazdagabb és legbefolyásosabb embere véres gyilkosság áldozata lett. Nem csupán egy korabeli krimi, hanem a mintegy harminc éven belül bekövetkező októberi forradalom egyik előszele is.
Az átirat Dosztojevszkij regénye alapján és a forradalom előtti években publikált irodalom és tudósítások felhasználásával készült.
Oroszországban nem könnyű az élet. A háborúk és a cári fényűzés egyre nehezebb helyzetbe sodorja a vidéki kisváros lakóit. Fjodor Karamazov, a város leghatalmasabb embere kitartásra buzdítja a népet. Közben fiai hazaérkeznek Moszkvából, hogy jogos örökségüket követeljék tőle. Karamazov ezt nem hajlandó kiadni, mondván, az orosz népnek szüksége van rá. Dmitrij kicsapongó magatartása egyre hírhedtebb lesz a városban. Ivan, a zseniális gondolkodó nyíltan bírálja a jelenlegi rendszert, aminek éppen apja az egyik működtetője. Közben a húszéves Aljosa békíteni igyekszik apját és bátyjait, de a helyzet, csakúgy az országban, mint a Karamazov családon belül, egyre jobban kezd elmérgesedni.

A 60-minute tour starts every day at 13:30, 15:00 and 16:30 in English. To request a tour in other languages (Italian, Spanish, German, French, Greece and Hungarian), please get in touch with the OperaTour team. Please note that the auditorium is closed for visits during rehearsals. Guided tours are not available during performances. For selected tour times, tickets are also available with the PreOpera Menu package. In addition to the guided tour of the Opera House, this option includes a themed set menu of your choice at OperaBistro, which can be enjoyed either before or after the tour.
There are evenings when our Opera House cannot perform because rehearsals are ongoing on stage until the evening. There are audience members who can only afford to hear their favourite pieces with a discount. And there are works that, although very popular, cannot be staged every season due to the congestion of productions.
