Generációjának karizmatikus egyénisége, a hegedűművész Kállai Ernő a budapesti Zeneakadémián és a New York-i Juilliard Schoolban tanult, utóbbi helyen Itzhak Perlman volt a mestere. Elkötelezett kamarazenész, Balázs Jánossal hosszú évek óta ismerik egymást, szinte nem múlik el úgy év, hogy ne lépnének fel együtt. 2012-ben 2. díjat nyertek Angliában, a Tunbridge Wells-i Nemzetközi Zenei Versenyen. Kállai Ernő a 2019-ben Kossuth-díjjal kitüntetett Balázs Jánossal a hegedű-zongora szonátairodalom remekműveiből játszik.
A koncert a Budapesti Tavaszi Fesztivál keretében a Budapesti Fesztivál- és Turisztikai Központ szervezésében valósul meg.
