Mikor a betlehemesek karácsonykor házról-házra járnak, üdvözlő versük végén ezt kérdezik: Szabad-e bejönni ide betlehemmel? A Kaláka együttes karácsonyi hangversenyének kerete ez a betlehemes játék.
A műsorban elhangzanak magyar és más nemzetiségű karácsonyi népdalok, régi egyházi énekek, karácsonyi versekre írott Kaláka dalok.
