Adott egy nő.
Adott egy férfi.
Van gyerek – szám szerint hét.
Adott egy hotelszoba.
Adott a házasság köteléke is.
A feleségüket? A férjüket? A gyerekeiket?
– Saját magukat!
Egy abszurd szerelem gyönyörű története.
– Lehet nevetni?
– Igen!
– Lehet sírni?
– Igen!
Akár mindkettőt egyszerre…

Our offer
As it is a latent Kodály season, it seems only fitting that the concert at the OPERA honouring the events of 1956 should feature works by the composer. In that same year, the short-lived Revolutionary Council of Hungarian Intellectuals elected him as its president. Throughout his entire oeuvre, Kodály consistently reinforced Hungarian national identity. The programme gains both colour and a ceremonial character from the hymn-like and dance-infused compositions of his middle and later years.
Carl Orff CARMINA BURANA Scenic cantata in the original languages, with Hungarian, English, and same-language subtitles
Based on Ádám Jenő's work by the same title HUNGARIAN CHRISTMAS Singspiel in two tableaux, in Hungarian
