A zenés színházi est tisztelgés a régi klasszikus kabaré, a pesti éjszakai szórakoztatás legendás előadói, szerzői előtt. „A pesti kabaré a szatíra. Az a cukrozott epe, hitetlenség és finom rosszmájúság öltött benne testet, amely minden pesti emberben bennlakozik, az az okosság teremtette meg, mely ennek a városnak egyik fontos jellemvonása” – ír a magyar kabaréról Kosztolányi Dezső. Többek között Nagy Endre, Békeffi László, Kellér Dezső konferanszai, Molnár vagy Karinthy iróniája, Zerkovitz Béla, Szirmai Albert, Márkus Alfréd dalai, vagy épp Darvas Szilárd, Kazal László előadói bravúrjai segítettek több generációnak is túlélni viharos évtizedeket. Fanyarul összekacsintva a közönséggel mondták ki a kimondhatatlant, vagy tanítottak olvasni a sorok között. Meglátni a könnyben a viccet, a humorban a tragikumot. Nevetni a világon és önmagunkon még akkor is, ha semmi ok a jókedvre.

A 60-minute tour starts every day at 13:30, 15:00 and 16:30 in English. To request a tour in other languages (Italian, Spanish, German, French, Greece and Hungarian), please get in touch with the OperaTour team. Please note that the auditorium is closed for visits during rehearsals. Guided tours are not available during performances. For selected tour times, tickets are also available with the PreOpera Menu package. In addition to the guided tour of the Opera House, this option includes a themed set menu of your choice at OperaBistro, which can be enjoyed either before or after the tour.
