Ágnes asszony egy úton jár, a bűn útján, egyfelé tart, a halálba. Kéjvágyuktól vezérelve az ördöggel cimborálnak, s kínok kínjával fizetnek. A bűntudat lelket kikezd, testet emészt, elmét megront. Egy bűnös sem menekülhet a bűnhődés fájdalmától. Álnok, vétkes világunk pusztulásra van ítélve, s mindenkinek a halál vet puha ágyat.
