Ehhez képest kevés volt Velence, ahol Erzsivel volt, hivatalosan, és kevés Siena, ahol Millicenttel volt, véletlenül. Mert Rómában egyedül volt és felsőbb útmutatásból, úgy érezte. Amit Rómában látott, minden a végzetesség jegyében állt."
