Minden idők egyik legikonikusabb hazai rockalbuma hirtelen felindulásból született, mégis a műfaj meghatározó klasszikusává vált.
„A Budapest-Miskolc vonaton 40 szövegötletet jegyeztem le, majd az egészet egy taxiban felejtettem. Végül 26-ot sikerült felidéznem, és Pókáék konyhájában nekiálltunk a munkának. A felvételek kezdete előtt „csak” a szövegeket kellett bemutatnom a cenzúrának - tudják, egy A-moll vagy G-dúr nem lehet rendszerellenes... Nagy tisztesség, hogy az emberek érdeklődése fennmaradt és a dalok ma is élnek, de szomorú tény, hogy a mű aktualitását mindmáig nem vesztette el. Sőt, anélkül, hogy próféciákat mondanék, amíg ember lesz a Földön, az is marad” – emlékszik vissza Hobo.
Megjelenésekor a lemez a ritka koncertalbumok egyike volt, amely zeneileg és szövegileg gondosan megtervezett életképekben jelenítette meg a történelem és a társadalom keresztmetszetét. A bomba sikerű Budapest Sportcsarnok-beli telt házas lemezbemutató óta négy évtized telt el, de a Vadászat hatása, öröksége generációkon átívelő.
