Gáspár Károly, zongorista, a hazai jazzélet meghatározó szereplője. Sokrétű zenei tevékenysége mellett a Karc FM szerkesztő-műsorvezetője, a JazzMa.hu kritikai rovatvezetője és a Magyar Jazz Szövetség vezetőségi tagja. Triójával saját kompozíciókat és jazzstandardeket egyaránt előadnak. Zenéjük friss és előremutató, romantikus és esztétizáló, ugyanakkor tiszteletben tartja a mainstream jazz hagyományait.
A trió tagjai Gáspár Károly mellett: Horváth Balázs, bőgős és Varga Bendegúz, dobos.
2017 februárjában jelent meg a trió első albuma The Outsider címmel, a Hunnia Records gondozásában. A korongon nyolc Gáspár-kompozíció mellett egy Horváth Jenő-dal, a Ma este nem gondoltam rád című dal feldolgozása hallható. Ebben az évben a JazzMa.hu olvasói szavazatai alapján a The Outsider elnyerte Az év lemeze-díját, 2019-ben pedig Fonogram-díjra jelölték. 2019 márciusában, a Tom-Tom Records kiadásában látott napvilágot a Gáspár Károly Trió második albuma, Salvation (Megváltás) címmel.

Pianist Károly Gáspár is one of the major figures on the Hungarian jazz scenes. He has played with everyone who is anyone in this country. His trio plays a mixture of standards and original tunes, Their music is fresh, forward-looking, romantic and aesthetic while respectful of its mainstream roots. Károly is partnered by bassist Balázs Horváth and drummer Bendegúz Varga. Their album, Outsider was released in February 2017. In same year it was voted „Album of the Year” by the readers of Hungary’s online jazz magazine, JazzMa.
The trio second album – „Salvation” (Tom-Tom Records) – released in 2019.
