Az öreg és beteg Benjamin Britten kénytelen kottaíró segédet fogadni maga mellé, mert nem tudja lejegyezni a fejében megszülető zenéket, a kezei már nem engedelmeskednek. Egy fiatal és szorgalmas fiú szegődik mellé a templomi kórusból. A mester nehezen szokja meg, hogy segítségre van szüksége, de mindenképpen szeretné halála előtt befejezni operáját, melyet Thomas Mann novellájából készít. A két férfi jelen idejű viszonya rákopírozódik a novella és az opera ugyanezen párosára, a két műfaj szcenikai elemei összemosódnak – opera és próza egyazon játék kereteit feszegetik.

Please note that the auditorium is closed for visits during rehearsals. Guided tours are not available during performances. For selected tour times, tickets are also available with the PreOpera Menu package. A 60-minute tour starts every day at 13:30, 15:00 and 16:30 in English. To request a tour in other languages (Italian, Spanish, German, French, Greece and Hungarian), please get in touch with the OperaTour team.
