Gyurkovics Tibor a darabot 1978-ban írta, és a mű azonnal sikert aratott. Ma talán aktuálisabb, mint valaha.
A komédia ereje abban rejlik, hogy emberi esendőségünkön túl, egész világunkat, annak pszichológiailag is jellemezhető mozgásait mutatja be. Maga a nagyvizit tulajdonképpen csak egy aprócska részlete a műnek, a darab egésze maga egy nagyvizit, diagnózist állítva fel emberségről, gyarlóságról, egyszerűségről és hősiességről.
Az előadás megjelenítése a rengeteg nyílt és rejtett komikus lehetőség miatt virtuóz, kihegyezett előadásmódot igényel. Bár a darabban lehetőség nyílik a féktelen komédiázásra, mégsem tanácsos átlépni egy bizonyos, jó ízlésbeli határt, hogy a darab egészén végigvonuló, hol jobban, hol kevésbé felszínre törő tragikuma ne váljon a komédiázás áldozatává. Ezt maximálisan sikerült megvalósítani ebben a rendezésben.
