A norvég drámaíró Henrik Ibsen az emberi psziché nagy ismerője. Műveiben minden esetben olyan mély lelki folyamatokat tár olvasói elé, amelyet az orvostudomány csak később nevesített.
Az apátlan Peer Gynt a mesék világába menekül a szürke hétköznapok és a társadalmi megvetés elől. Története sehova sem tartozás, az örökös úton levés és az önámítás tragédiája. De fordítsuk meg a kérdést: mikortól bűn az, ha elménk egy másik síkon nyer élményt magának?

This ballet's plot is inspired by The Corsair, a famous verse written in 1814 by Lord Byron, who towered over an entire generation of English Romantic poets.
