Ballet Company of Győr: NOSFERATU - Based on the novel by Bram Stoker
Nosferatu returns to walk among us: the renaissance of vampire stories on screen and stage is no coincidence, as they still encapsulate our deepest fears, desires, and questions about mortality.

This latest production by the Ballet Company of Győr draws its inspiration from Bram Stoker’s gothic horror classic and uses the language of dance, startling visuals and unique perspectives to summon the dead man with a craving for life: Nosferatu. László Velekei’s choreography builds tension through a powerful musical collage, dramatic light-and-shadow play, and a stark, breathtaking visual world that brings to life the iconic creature who both repels and fascinates. Beneath the surface of gothic horror, the performance probes the great existential themes of love, death and responsibility, placing at its heart not a bloodthirsty monster, but a mystical being for whom immortality is a curse that brings forth a longing for the fragile beauty of human life…
The performance is recommended for those aged 12 and over.
Due to the use of strobe lighting and striking visual effects, the performance is not advised for anyone sensitive to intense lighting.
