Három hét, egy hét, huszonnégy óra, százöt perc. Az út hossza Berlinből Párizsba gyalog, postakocsin, gőzvasúton és repülőn. Űrhajóval másfél perc, elvileg. Nem is olyan régen oly buzgón hittünk a gépek diadalában: a gépekben, amelyek megváltanak a munka gyötrelmétől, eltörlik a lehetetlent, és elhozzák az általános jólétet. Gyorsaság és erő, tömeg és teljesítmény mindenben, életben – halálban. Megszületett az új, gépzsírtól csöpögő istenség, és mi, hajdani teremtői mára alázatos teremtményeivé szelídültünk. Akárhogy is volt, az életünk teljesen más lett általuk. (Az életünk teljesen más lett általuk?)

A 60-minute tour starts every day at 13:30, 15:00 and 16:30 in English. Please note that the auditorium is closed for visits during rehearsals. Guided tours are not available during performances. While the Fountain of Tears bubbles before him, Giray, khan of the Tatars, is lost in brooding. Just as the flow from the marble fount cannot be exhausted, his own sorrow will never diminish, either. The story of the Fountain of Bakhchisarai is set in motion by a romance recounting the reason for the khan's gloom.
This ballet's plot is inspired by The Corsair, a famous verse written in 1814 by Lord Byron, who towered over an entire generation of English Romantic poets.
