Gavriel Lipkind Tel-Avivban született. Fiatal korában olyan kiváló művészekkel dolgozott együtt, mint Zubin Mehta, Philippe Entremont, Giuseppe Sinopoli, Yehudi Menuhin, Pinchas Zukerman, Msztyiszlav Rosztropovics, Yuri Bashmet és Gidon Kremer.
Koncertezett
már a Concertgebouw-ban, a Suntory Hallban, a Kennedy Centerben és a
Berlini Filharmoniában, illetve fellépett az Izraeli Filharmonikusokkal,
a Müncheni Filharmonikusokkal és a Baltimoore-i Szimfonikusokkal.
Energiája nagy részét arra fordítja, hogy a cselló-irodalom legjavát megörökítse.
Gavriel Lipkind egy egyedi itáliai csellón játszik, ami becslések szerint 1670 és 1680 között készült, és „Aloysius Michael Garani (Bologna, 1702)” megjelölés látható rajta. Ez egy talányos hangszer, ami a „Zihrhonheimer Csellóként” híresült el.

A 60-minute tour starts every day at 13:30, 15:00 and 16:30 in English. A century ago, the world first encountered this remarkable opus, a work that soon became one of the cornerstones of twentieth-century musical innovation. Premiered in 1926, the singspiel is a milestone in Hungarian music history: its composer, Zoltán Kodály, fulfilled his aspiration to elevate Hungarian folk song of ancient origin to the same status as classical music, by virtue of its equivalent values, placing it on the stage of the nation’s Opera House.
