A Garami Funky Staff a közismert rádiós műsorvezető, Garami Gábor (Danubius Rádió, Class Fm) régi nagy álmát váltja valóra: az 1970-es, 1980-as, 1990-es évek funky, disco és soul slágereinek megidézése professzionális hangzásban.
A 2010 óta működő zenekar a tavalyi évben az igényesebb soul műfaj felé fordult, persze megtartva a szórakoztató és táncolható funky és disco blokkokat.
Egy pár előadó a repertoárból: Kool & the Gang, Earth, Wind & Fire, Aretha Franklin, Jamiroquai, Stevie Wonder, M People, Diana Ross, Chic, Donna Summer, Sister Sledge, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Daft Punk, Bruno Mars.
Első saját számuk, a Péntek éjszaka sikerén felbuzdulva elkészültek az újabb „garamis” dalok; így 2014 októberében megjelent a zenekar első nagylemeze olyan kiváló művészek vendégszereplésével, mint az Animal Cannibals, Bebe, Király Viktor, Nagy Laci Gitano, Oláh Gergő és Veres Mónika Nika.
Jelenleg a zenekar a második albumán dolgozik.
A Garami Funky Staff első bulija az Orfeumban, amelyet DJ SuriImi Funky Feeling Partyja követ, aki elsősorban az 1970/80-as évek soul-funk csemegéi közül válogat.
