Hol volt, hol nem volt, hetedhét országon túl, Erdély országban, az Aranyos folyó határainál, volt egyszer egy székely ember s annak a felesége.
A szegény székely dolgos volt, a földjén dolgozott nap mint nap. Egyetlen boldogsága szeretett felesége volt, de bizony meggyűlt a gondja vele, mert az asszonynak nem csak a ruhája volt pörgős, hanem a nyelve is és sohase azt csinálta, amit kellett volna…
Úgy éltek, mint két kutya a kert közt…
