“Azt gondolom, hogy Jókai Annának ott kell lennie a magyar színpadon, és mi a Fejünk felől a tetőt című színjátékát választottuk ki.
Ez az írónő első színpadi műve, melyet saját regénye alapján dramatizált, s aminek Szolnokon volt az ősbemutatója, hosszú évekkel ezelőtt.
A történet a ’60-es években játszódik Budapesten. Egy család története, ahol négy generáció lélegzik együtt, egy már szebb időket is látott józsefvárosi házban. Mindenki a saját kicsinyes, és fanyar világával van elfoglalva, hiába élnek egy fedél alatt. A Ház a Család szimbóluma, amely recseg-ropog, de küzd a megmaradásért.
A darab a ”fekete romantika és a fekete humor” ötvözete és remek színészi feladatot nyújt a művészeink számára.”
