A Rongyos Gárda legendája újraéled a színpadon. A Sopron Balett látványos, magas hőfokú, érzelemmel telített ősbemutatója Somogyváry Gyula történelmi tényeken alapuló regényéből készült. A táncelőadás egy romantikus szerelmi szállal átszőve felidézi azt, amikor veterán frontkatonák, vasutasok, napszámosok, gazdászhallgatók, egyetemisták, honvédtisztek, szegények és gazdagok, magyarok, székelyek, kunok, szerbek, horvátok és németek fogtak fegyvert Magyarországért, Sopronért és környékéért. Amikor egy maroknyi ember szembeszállt a világgal, Trianon igazságtalanságával, és megváltoztatta a történelmet.

Set in the Roman Empire around 74 BC, Spartacus was László Seregi's first true full-length ballet, which at one stroke became a milestone in Hungarian dance life. Since 1968, one generation after another has enjoyed the historically themed choreography, which treats the story of the ancient slave revolt in such a way that its true message is not the rebellion itself, but rather human emotions and choices under pressure.
The World of Ballet Remembers a Hungarian Legend 2014 saw the sudden passing of the international ballet artist and ballet director Iván Nagy. After his retirement, he had returned to serve his country by working as head artistic consultant for the Hungarian State Opera.
