Az Énekes madár című szerelmes játék Tamási Áron egyik legszebb története: boldogságkeresés, szerelemkeresés, ég- s föld közt lebegés. Szereplői mi magunk vagyunk, mi, akik boldogságra, igaz, hű társra vágyunk. Döntéseinket a teljes élet elérésének érdekében hozzuk; ám a mélyben munkál egy meg nem nevezhető indulat, egy ősi, az emberi öntudat előtti erő - az ösztön, melynek senki sem parancsolhat.
Kiből lesz énekes madár, és kiből emberi varjú? S vajon a kicsi madár legyőzheti a nagy varjakat?
