A modern művészet kialakulása (1905–45)
A hetedik előadás alkalmával többek között azt a kérdést tisztázza az előadó, hogy mi vezetett a művészetet átalakító és máig meghatározó absztrakciós fordulathoz a XIX-XX. század fordulóján. Az absztrakt mesterek nehezen, és sokszor a mai napig kétkedéssel figyelt műveit az előzmények segítségével teszi befogadhatóbbá Gimesy Péter előadó. Az előadás során Pablo Picasso művészete mellett szó lesz az antiművészetet képviselő dadaizmusról (Marcel Duchamp) és a szürrealizmusról (Salvador Dalí) is.

As it is a latent Kodály season, it seems only fitting that the concert at the OPERA honouring the events of 1956 should feature works by the composer. In that same year, the short-lived Revolutionary Council of Hungarian Intellectuals elected him as its president. Throughout his entire oeuvre, Kodály consistently reinforced Hungarian national identity. The programme gains both colour and a ceremonial character from the hymn-like and dance-infused compositions of his middle and later years.
