Edvard Munch (1863 – 1944) Sikoly című képével – melyet több verzióban is elkészített – világhírű festővé vált. Egyszerre volt a szorongás és a megnyugvás festője.
Festményciklusainak témái ma is aktuálisak. A norvég festő az emberi érzelmeket modern, expresszív eszközökkel ábrázolja.
Idén van Munch halálának 75. évfordulója.
Gimesy Péter, művészettörténész előadása során az életmű minden korszaka bemutatásra kerül.
