Adott két nem könnyű ember: Vernon, a befutott, sikeres slágerszerző, és Sonia, a kezdő dalszövegíró, akik mindketten hivatásuk megszállottjai. Sonia korábbi párja láthatatlanul, de egyre agresszívebben közéjük furakodik. Így lesz a kétszemélyes játékból Édeskettes hármasban. Neil Simon az amerikai vígjáték frenetikus humorú mestere. Marvin Hamlisch az amerikai színpadi és filmzene briliáns alkotóművésze. A most bemutatásra kerülő musical e két világsztár együttműködéséből született különlegesen szép, romantikus zenés komédia.
