The Opera is planning to commemorate the 700th anniversary of the death of the great Italian poet Dante Alighieri. The night provides a possibility for examining the relationship between Dante’s oeuvre and Hungarian culture and the cultural connections between Hungary and Italy. The program deals with the relationships between Dante and music and Hungarian musicians, and it features a performance of Liszt’s grandiose piece performed in the manner originally intended by the composer, with projected images.
