Pászthy Júlia növendéke volt a Zeneakadémián, s tanulóévei során részt vett Barbara Bonney, Kiri Te Kanawa, Marton Éva, Nancy Argenta, Sass Sylvia, Deborah York és Meláth Andrea mesterkurzusain, többször is megnyerte az országos énekversenyt, 2011-ben pedig a Linzben megrendezett Pietro Antonio Cesti barokk énekversenyről elhozta a fődíjat és a közönségdíjat. more

Baráth Emőke azóta a legjelentősebb karmesterek partnere, 2012-ben a lemezen is rögzített, Alan Curtis által vezényelt Händel-produkció, a Giulio Cesare egyik szerepét énekelte, tavaly pedig az Aix-en-Provence-i Fesztivál nagy durranásában kapott főszerepet: a bemutatása után 350 évvel újra felfedezett Cavalli-opera, az Elena címszerepét énekelte. Alakításáról egyöntetű lelkesedéssel számolt be a Le Figarótól a Financial Timesig a világsajtó, e sorok írásakor pedig azt tudjuk, hogy Baráth Emőke bejutott a brüsszeli Erzsébet királynő verseny döntőjébe, mégpedig a fődíjra esélyesek között. Zeneakadémiai dalestjén Csalog Gábor lesz a partnere. Műsoruk első felében Schubert- és Schumann-dalok közül, második felében pedig a rendkívül gazdag francia dalirodalomból válogattak.

A century ago, the world first encountered this remarkable opus, a work that soon became one of the cornerstones of twentieth-century musical innovation. Premiered in 1926, the singspiel is a milestone in Hungarian music history: its composer, Zoltán Kodály, fulfilled his aspiration to elevate Hungarian folk song of ancient origin to the same status as classical music, by virtue of its equivalent values, placing it on the stage of the nation’s Opera House.
