Az egész Józsefváros arról beszél, hogy micsoda híres színinövendék lett a Nagytemplom utca talált gyerekéből, Pünkösdi Katóból. Katóka nevelőapja, a hentes Kubanek nagy vacsorát rendez és meglepetést készít lányának; az ünnepség tetőpontján jelenti be, hogy Katóka és szerelme, a zongorista Dorozsmai Pista jegyesek. Csakhogy Dorozsmai előző éjjel, a nagy mulatozás hevében zálogba csapta a jegygyűrűket, s hogy elkerülje a balhét, megszökik az érte rajongó Rica Macával.
Természetesen kitör a botrány. Ráadásul feltűnik Báró Tarpataky, az ifjú tehetségek mecénása, hogy felajánlja pártfogását Katókának. A lánynak döntenie kell: az arisztokrácia csillogó és sikerrel kecsegtető világát választja, vagy a szegényes Józsefvárost, ahonnan még a vőlegénye is eltűnt.

A 60-minute tour starts every day at 13:30, 15:00 and 16:30 in English. To request a tour in other languages (Italian, Spanish, German, French and Hungarian), please get in touch with the OperaTour team. Please note that the auditorium is closed for visits during rehearsals. Guided tours are not available during performances. For selected tour times, tickets are also available with the PreOpera Menu package. In addition to the guided tour of the Opera House, this option includes a themed set menu of your choice at OperaBistro, which can be enjoyed either before or after the tour.
