A kaláka szó jelentése erdélyi népszokás: közös munka. Eredetileg házépítést jelentett. A Kaláka együttes 1969-ben alakult Budapesten. Verseket énekelnek. Muzsikájuk sokszínű, és a versekből következően sokstílusú. Az egyéni hangzást a négy énekhang, a klasszikus és népi hangszerek együttes játéka adja.

Az Kaláka együttes tagjai és hangszereik:
- Becze Gábor: nagybőgő, gitár
- Gryllus Dániel: furulyák, citera, pánsíp, klarinét, tárogató
- Gryllus Vilmos: cselló, gitár, charango, koboz, doromb
- Radványi Balázs: mandolin, 12 húros gitár, ukulele, cuatro, brácsa, kalimba
Költészet és zene:
Dalok régi és mai, magyar (közöttük számos határainkon túl élő) és más nemzetiségű költő versére.
A Kaláka 30 lemezt jelentett meg dalainak száma kb. 1300.
