Az orgonaverseny Francis Poulenc pályájának fordulópontján keletkezett. „Nem a kétzongorás koncert tréfás zeneszerzője írta, hanem a kolostorba induló Poulenc” – írta egy zeneszerző kollégájának címzett levelében. Érdekes, hogy e kompozíciója előtt soha nem írt orgonára, így a munkára Buxtehude és Bach műveinek tanulmányozásával készítette fel magát, illetve konzultált korának egyik legjelesebb orgonista-zeneszerzőjével, Maurice Duruflével, aki aztán a darab bemutatást is elvállalta. Maga a műfaj a barokk korszakban élte fénykorát, a későbbi korokban kissé háttérbe szorult. De azért az elmúlt évszázadban is több tucat olyan kompozíció született, mely a repertoár részévé vált, Francis Poulenc kompozíciója pedig az orgonaversenyek 20. századi történetének legsikeresebb, legnépszerűbb darabja lett. A mű szólistája Fassang László lesz, aki a Budapesti Vonósok társaságában Bach közkedvelt csembalóversenyét is megszólaltatja – természetesen orgonán.

There are evenings when our Opera House cannot perform because rehearsals are ongoing on stage until the evening. There are audience members who can only afford to hear their favourite pieces with a discount. And there are works that, although very popular, cannot be staged every season due to the congestion of productions.
A 60-minute tour starts every day at 13:30, 15:00 and 16:30 in English. To request a tour in other languages (Italian, Spanish, German, French, Greece and Hungarian), please get in touch with the OperaTour team. Please note that the auditorium is closed for visits during rehearsals. Guided tours are not available during performances. For selected tour times, tickets are also available with the PreOpera Menu package. In addition to the guided tour of the Opera House, this option includes a themed set menu of your choice at OperaBistro, which can be enjoyed either before or after the tour.
