Az opera műfaja lényegében drámai mechanizmusokkal és a drámai idővel operáló, verbális eszközöket használó művek (azaz drámák) zenei megfogalmazása. Ahogy azt a prológusában a librettista Balázs Béla megfogalmazza: nem tudjuk, hogy a cselekmény helyszíne valóságos színpad-e, vagy maga a lelkünk.
A hangversenyen kísérletet teszünk a mű értelmezésére. Ahogy az tőlem megszokott, az értelmezés a zenei tartalomból indul ki és nem a szövegből. Az bizonyos, hogy a férfi és nő (Kékszakállú és Judit) találkozásában a bennük lejátszódó gondolatok, kétségek és remények csak egyetlen pillanatra metszik egymást, és ki-ki élettapasztalata, kudarcai és az adott helyzetekre való ráismerés képessége szerint értelmezheti a darabot.
Amennyiben a művészet célja lelkünk kozmikus bonyolultságának feltérképezése és bemutatása, úgy Bartók Kékszakállúja bizonyosan ennek a kísérletnek az egyik legmegrázóbb és legelgondolkodtatóbb példája.

Set in the Roman Empire around 74 BC, Spartacus was László Seregi's first true full-length ballet, which at one stroke became a milestone in Hungarian dance life. Since 1968, one generation after another has enjoyed the historically themed choreography, which treats the story of the ancient slave revolt in such a way that its true message is not the rebellion itself, but rather human emotions and choices under pressure.

Following on the heels of the introductory Das Rheingold, this opera about the tragic love between two of Wotan's children constitutes the start of the more tightly drawn dramatic trilogy. Once again, the laws of the gods clash: can paternal love save a lad who has violated the sanctity of marriage?
A 60-minute tour starts every day at 13:30, 15:00 and 16:30 in English.
