Ken Ludwig világhírű bohózata, a Botrány az operában egy őrült tempójú komédia félreértésekkel, féltékenységgel, szerepcserékkel és megállíthatatlan nevetéssel.
A történet 1934-ben, Clevelandben játszódik, ahol az operavilág ünnepelt sztárját, Tito Merellit várják az Othello főszerepére. Az olasz tenor azonban késve érkezik, ráadásul nem éppen kifogástalan állapotban… Egy apró félreértés pedig lavinát indít el: szerelmek gabalyodnak össze, identitások cserélődnek fel, és elszabadul a káosz a színfalak mögött.
A Botrány az operában fergeteges helyzetkomikumokkal, temperamentumos karakterekkel és hamisítatlan színházi humorral garantálja a felhőtlen kikapcsolódást.

Singspiel in two acts, in Hungarian, with Hungarian and English surtitles
Two giants of Baroque music meet during the Advent season in a performance by the OPERA Orchestra and Chorus. Bach’s well-known Magnificat is performed in its original version, in E-flat major, supplemented with movements specifically tailored to the festive season by the composer himself.
While the Fountain of Tears bubbles before him, Giray, khan of the Tatars, is lost in brooding. Just as the flow from the marble fount cannot be exhausted, his own sorrow will never diminish, either. The story of the Fountain of Bakhchisarai is set in motion by a romance recounting the reason for the khan's gloom.
