A városi csendőrség fiatal nyomozója, Beressy Tamás százados belebonyolódik az ügy szálaiba, mindenhol akadályba ütközik, ám ekkor (pont jókor) érkezik vissza rozoga Citroënjén tíz év után Párizsból a tapasztalt Karády őrnagy, aki kezébe veszi a dolgokat. Lassan fölsejlenek egy titokzatos, veszedelmes, nyalánkságokkal teli, megdöbbentő, ámulatba ejtő bűnöző sziluettjei, ám a történet végül nem várt fordulatot vesz… A nyomozati kihallgatáson az ügybe nagyon- belekeveredő írók, A Vörös Postakocsi és a Szabolcs-Szatmár-Beregi Szemle szerzői, akik a korabeli alkotók hangján szólalnak meg: BÉRES TAMÁS, CSABAI LÁSZLÓ, GERLICZKI ANDRÁS, KULIN BORBÁLA, KÜRTI LÁSZLÓ, OLÁH ANDRÁS, NAGY ZSUKA.
