Két remekmű, a „hegedűversenyek fejedelme” és a szimfónia - amelynek eszményien szép Adagietto-tétele hallatán a Halál Velencében című Visconti-film amerikai producerei állítólag így kiáltottak fel: „Ügyes ez a Mahler, dolgoztassunk vele máskor is!” - alkotja a koncert programját, s bármily gyakran szólaltatják is meg a repertoár eme alapdarabjait - Beethoven Hegedűversenyét és Mahler V. szimfóniáját - az este mégis revelatív élményt ígér, többek között a Kossuth-díjas Keller András és a sok más elismerés mellett egy Grammy-díjjal is rendelkező olasz-német-amerikai hegedűművész, a nagyszerű Augustin Hadelich együttműködésének köszönhetően. Mindemellett a Concerto Budapest és vezetője rég elkötelezett és hivatott előadója a nevezetes Adagiettónak – és egyáltalán: Mahler szimfonikus életművének, így minden egyes alkalommal a művek újabb színeit és rétegeit tárják elénk.
