Founded in 2012 by Tamás Körner, the Classical Concert Agency represents three instrumentalists, who follow in the footsteps of great predecessors as they add to the prestige of Hungarian music with performances in the best-known concert halls across the globe. Though Kristóf Baráti, István Várdai and Dénes Várjon are the most sought-after Hungarian musicians, they luckily find time away from their busy solo schedules to make chamber music together. They gave their first joint concert a little over three years ago, and it was apparent from the start that the three struck the right chord with each other.

János Malina wrote about their most recent concert: “Following a change of generations, we again have outstanding soloists who are interested in the genre of chamber music, and can fill one or two piano trios. Of them, the Baráti–Várdai–Várjon formation is the one that has become set, and can now provide audiences with a ‘dream trio.’”

Our offer

A 60-minute tour starts every day at 13:30, 15:00 and 16:30 in English. To request a tour in other languages (Italian, Spanish, German, French, Greece and Hungarian), please get in touch with the OperaTour team. Please note that the auditorium is closed for visits during rehearsals. Guided tours are not available during performances. For selected tour times, tickets are also available with the PreOpera Menu package. In addition to the guided tour of the Opera House, this option includes a themed set menu of your choice at OperaBistro, which can be enjoyed either before or after the tour.

The tale of Leander the goblin and Princess Linseed, brimming with magic and a seemingly unbreakable curse, not to mention a wealth of twists and turns, is a genuinely good yarn. Set to a libretto by Barnabás Szöllősi that is based on Andor Szilágyi's fable for the theatre and written at the OPERA's request in the 2014/15 season, Erkel Prize-winning composer Zsófia Tallér's masterful, expressive and entertaining music makes this Hungarian fairy tale opera an enjoyable experience for children and adults alike, and, we hope, a possible future classic.
