Klementina tündökletes tehetségű, gyönyörű színésznő, aki szenvedélyes, sodró életet él a nála fiatalabb szerelme, Raul oldalán. Egy ideje nem érzi jól magát, s fölkeresi Kada professzort, a híres belgyógyászt. Az orvos fölismeri a halálos kórt, de eltitkolja szépséges betege előtt az igazságot. Klementina gyanakszik, s elhatározza, hogy külsejét álcázva, mint saját anyja fogja kifaggatni a professzort. A „játék” túl jól sikerül s így megállíthatatlanul elindul az utolsó szerep életrekeltése. De vajon jól teszi-e, vagy van más út?
