Történet egy fiúról, aki a valóság elől az álmaiba, és egy lányról, aki az álmai elől a valóságba menekül – erről szól Az arany virágcserép. Másképp mondva, a valóság és a vágyak összeegyeztethetőségének problematikájáról. Ezt a dilemmát E. T. A. Hoffmann regényének hőse, Anselmus felismeri, és úgy dönt, az álmokat választja. De Az arany virágcserépnek van még egy főszereplője, Veronika, aki ugyanerre a kérdésre más választ ad: ő a boldogságot kompromisszumok árán éri el.
Hogyan egyeztethetőek össze álmaink a realitással? Létezik-e kompromisszummentes boldogság? És kompromisszumos boldogság? TIE-előadásunk során ezekre a kérdésekre keressük a választ.
Hoffmann romantikus kisregénye örök érvényű problémákat feszeget, olyan problémákat, amelyekkel a szembesülés a felnőtté válás megkerülhetetlen része.
