Ötvenkét nővér arccal a mérgező levesében! Így talál rájuk egy balul elsült gombavacsora után a zárdába visszaérkező öt apáca, akik egy Bingo-party miatt maradtak le az „utolsó vacsoráról”. Elhatározzák, hogy a hirtelen megboldogult nővéreket méltó körülmények között búcsúztatják el.
A temetéshez azonban rengeteg pénzre van szükség. Egy sugallatnak engedve vallásos témájú képeslapok gyártásába fognak. És bár a vállalkozás jól megy, az összeg így sem teljes.
Végül egy adománygyűjtő előadást szerveznek, ahol ők maguk lépnek színpadra. A show egyszerűen mennyei, és közben arra is fény derül, hogy bár született apácák, mégis mindegyikük színpadra termett.
És hogy összejön-e a pénz a sziporkázó zárdahumorban bővelkedő misszió végére? Az csakis az oltári társaságon múlik, mert ők a végsőkig zengik: „a színpad szent varázs!”
