Jupiter isten megkívánja a gyönyörű Alkménét, és hogy az övé lehessen, felölti férje, a távolban lévő Amphitryon alakját. Amphitryon, a lopott nász megejtése után érkezik otthonába, ahol felesége különös viselkedéséből rájön, hogy valaki más birtokolta házát és ágyát. Alkméné nem sejtve az isteni cselt, biztosan állítja, férjével, Amphitryonnal töltötte az éjszakát. Jupiter szolgája, Merkur is belebújik Amphitryon szolgájának, Sosiasnak bőrébe, hogy az isteni „játékot” segítse.
Moliere Amphitryonjában a komédia és a tragédia egyszerre van jelen. A megkettőzött figurák komikus, groteszk szituációkba kerülnek, saját magukkal vitáznak, helyenként már el is hiszik, hogy tükörképük az igazi és nem ők. Moliere szabadversben írt Amphitryonját, Szálinger Balázs új szövege hozza még közelebb napjainkhoz, hozzánk.

In addition to the guided tour of the Opera House, this option includes a themed set menu of your choice at OperaBistro, which can be enjoyed either before or after the tour.
